Three ways to clear a lot, and which one you need
Mow it. If the growth is grass, weeds and saplings under two inches, a brush hog is the fastest and cheapest option, $125 to $150 per acre. It cuts; it does not remove.
Mulch it. If the lot is choked with cedar, mesquite or thick saplings, the skid steer with a severe-duty brush mulcher grinds everything to chips at ground level in one pass. Nothing to haul, the chips hold the soil, and the lot is walkable and mowable afterwards. This is the most common land clearing job we do.
Grub it. If stumps and roots have to come out because something is being built, the excavator pulls trees and stumps, we stack and haul or burn where allowed, and the lot is left ready for grading.

How a lot clearing job goes
- Walk the lot. We flag the trees you are keeping, the corners, and anything hidden in the brush (old fence, wire, concrete, a septic tank).
- Quote. Written estimate by email with the method, the machines and the price.
- Clear. Mulch, mow or grub depending on the plan. Trees you want kept are trimmed up so the machines can work under them.
- Clean up. Debris stacked and hauled, or mulch spread evenly. Optional final brush hog pass or grading.
- Done. Photos texted, invoice emailed, and a maintenance plan if you want the lot kept clear.

How much does land clearing cost per acre in Fort Worth?
Light brush that a tractor can mow runs $125 to $150 per acre. Heavy cedar, mesquite and sapling lots that need the skid steer mulcher have run about $150 to $200 per acre. Stump and tree removal is billed by the hour or as a flat price after we see the lot.
Do I need a permit to clear my lot?
For brush, undergrowth and mowing, generally no. Some cities in Tarrant County protect trees over a certain trunk diameter and require a permit or mitigation before removal, and creek and floodplain areas have their own rules. We will tell you what applies at your address before we start.
What happens to the brush and trees?
Mulched material stays on the lot as a thin layer of chips that holds the soil and breaks down. Larger trees and stumps are hauled off in our dump trailers, or burned on site where the county allows and you prefer it.
Can you clear around the trees I want to keep?
Yes. Selective clearing is most of what we do. Mark the keepers with tape or walk the lot with us and we work around them.
How long does it take to clear an acre?
Mulching a heavily overgrown acre usually takes half a day to a day. Mowing an acre takes under an hour. Grubbing stumps is the slowest and depends on how many there are.
Do you do the dirt work after clearing?
Yes. Clearing, grading, pad prep, driveways and trenching are all done in-house with the same crew and equipment, so there is no hand-off between contractors.
